When we had our stucco inspected and learned that there was significant damage, we were confronted with the unpleasant reality that stucco remediation work is tricky. How do you know that your contractor is doing a good job? How do you know that the price you are being quoted is unfair. We contacted multiple companies and did our best to educate ourselves. Turns out that an huge trap to fall in is the fact that some stucco remediation experts will low-ball you on price up front, knowing that the damage to the wood underneath the stucco will be extensive. Once you've signed up with them and they start the work, they can trap you by showing you how ugly the damage is underneath the stucco..."Whoops, looks like the job is WAAAY bigger than expected!" Then they can charge you whatever you want. Enter Ryan Gormley. From beginning to end he was fantastic to work with. First, I probably have never had a contractor who was so proactive with communication. Second, he was a true educator - he told us exactly what he was doing to make sure that our stucco issues would become a thing of the past. Third, he and his team were professional, friendly, and an overall joy to work with. Most importantly, the job looks fantastic. Ryan made sure to educate me on what they accomplished and answered all my questions in a very timely manner. Finally, the work came in perfectly in budget - even though his was one of the lower-cost quotes that came in. Ryan and his team did an terrific job. We recently hired Gormley Construction to address a stucco remediation issue and complete some stonework and we couldn’t be happier with the results.  From start to finish, the team was professional, communicative, and punctual. The quality of their work is outstanding and they truly paid attention to every detail, ensuring the job was done right the first time. We contacted Ryan for a stucco problem with our home that was very concerning. We had leakage at some windows and water seeping into the garage. Ryan and his crew were just great. He walked us thru every stage as they tore off much of our exterior and replaced it, layer by layer, with new and improved materials. He replaced our windows and siding as well as the extensive stucco work. He also took care of stonework on the sides of the garage which was a new addition. It’s been almost 2 years since our work was started and everything still looks great. Our home is airtight and beautiful. Many of our neighbors commented that it looks like a brand new house! Ryan did not consider this project completed until we were completely satisfied and that means a great deal. As a homeowner, I could not ask for more. It is a wonderful feeling to find a contractor that you can trust to do the job right. We worked with Ryan and his team (our main contact was Keith) for a stucco remediation at our home that started in December and took about a month to complete. Our initial interactions with Keith and Ryan were great, they were responsive and answered our questions. The work they did was solid (pictured), and so far has held up well, however we found out this week that at some point during the remediation process, our previously well-functioning A/C unit (which is directly below the scaffolding the crew put up) was no longer working. A heating & cooling company came out and found the copper refrigerant line was pulled up and broken (pictured), with refrigerant and oil spilled all over the ground. This was not something that was ever brought to our attention when it happened, and the line is in such a place that it would be very difficult for anyone to have accidentally bumped it if they didn’t climb over the unit to the back side. We are working with Ryan now try and get the issue fixed, but definitely something that was a disappointing to find out after the fact. Update: Did get in touch with Ryan, who offered to pay for the repair of the AC unit. Ultimately, we went with replacing the unit due to how many pieces needed to be replaced, and Ryan made well on his promise to pay the credit towards replacement. Overall, I have no complaints about the stucco remediation and roof deck build he did for us, only this unfortunate complication. Gormley Construction Inc replaced the stucco of my house with Hardie in March 2024. The original stucco had issues, allowing water to penetrate the house. From the first visit, Ryne has demonstrated his professional insight and answered all our questions clearly and candidly. Their team members are professional and friendly. Ryan and his team were excellent to work with for replacing an entire wall of stucco. Ryan was helpful at every step, and the team worked every day the weather permitted to get a major and urgent repair completed as quickly as possible, without cutting any corners. The quote we received is the final price we paid, there were no hidden fees or additional charges. Very impressively, the stucco texture is a perfect match for the rest of the home! Ryan and his team did a stucco remediation for my 30 year old stone and stucco home which had several areas in need of remediation. Many of the other companies I spoke with were all to quick to suggest going with cement board  but Ryan laid out the options and I was able to preserve my preferred look of continuing with stucco. Along with his team Ryan was very approachable and easy to communicate with. The job supervisor Keith was also great to work with. The team did superb work and I am very pleased with the finished product as well as the warranty transferrable to a new homeowner. I would definitely use Gormley Construction again if needed and highly recommend them.
