Stucco Remediation for Exton Homes
Protecting Exton’s Diverse Housing Stock from Stucco Failure
Behind the elegant stucco facade of your Exton property, seasonal weather patterns create microscopic fissures that allow water to infiltrate deeper every year. What starts as a minor surface imperfection can silently evolve into catastrophic structural damage, toxic mold, and compromised insulation before you ever see a leak inside. Gormley Construction specializes in identifying and resolving these stucco failures before they destroy your investment.

Posted on GoogleArnaldo Cavazos When we had our stucco inspected and learned that there was significant damage, we were confronted with the unpleasant reality that stucco remediation work is tricky. How do you know that your contractor is doing a good job? How do you know that the price you are being quoted is unfair. We contacted multiple companies and did our best to educate ourselves. Turns out that an huge trap to fall in is the fact that some stucco remediation experts will low-ball you on price up front, knowing that the damage to the wood underneath the stucco will be extensive. Once you've signed up with them and they start the work, they can trap you by showing you how ugly the damage is underneath the stucco..."Whoops, looks like the job is WAAAY bigger than expected!" Then they can charge you whatever you want. Enter Ryan Gormley. From beginning to end he was fantastic to work with. First, I probably have never had a contractor who was so proactive with communication. Second, he was a true educator - he told us exactly what he was doing to make sure that our stucco issues would become a thing of the past. Third, he and his team were professional, friendly, and an overall joy to work with. Most importantly, the job looks fantastic. Ryan made sure to educate me on what they accomplished and answered all my questions in a very timely manner. Finally, the work came in perfectly in budget - even though his was one of the lower-cost quotes that came in. Ryan and his team did an terrific job. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.Posted on GoogleStately Lion We recently hired Gormley Construction to address a stucco remediation issue and complete some stonework and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the team was professional, communicative, and punctual. The quality of their work is outstanding and they truly paid attention to every detail, ensuring the job was done right the first time. They kept us informed throughout the entire process, answering all of our questions and keeping us updated on progress. The crew was respectful of our property and always cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. It’s clear they take pride in their craft and it shows in the finished product. We highly recommend Gormley Construction. A+ service all around!Posted on GoogleJeff Kelly Ryan and team (Keith was the project manager) did a phenomenal job on our house. They were both responsive and straightforward as well. It was an extensive job, but they followed through every step of the way. We highly recommend them.Posted on GoogleSarah Wheeler Fesnak We had a terrific experience with Gormley for our stucco removal and Hardie board installation. Everyone we worked with was professional, on time, and quick to accommodate when we made some last minute changes! Highly recommended!Posted on GoogleAl Rainone My wife and I hired Ryan to remediate our home. He impressed us with his efficiency and professionalism. He guided us through the process with ease and completed the job as expected. He provided exceptional service on our project. Our property looked even better after the work. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED‼️Posted on GoogleJudy D We contacted Ryan for a stucco problem with our home that was very concerning. We had leakage at some windows and water seeping into the garage. Ryan and his crew were just great. He walked us thru every stage as they tore off much of our exterior and replaced it, layer by layer, with new and improved materials. He replaced our windows and siding as well as the extensive stucco work. He also took care of stonework on the sides of the garage which was a new addition. It’s been almost 2 years since our work was started and everything still looks great. Our home is airtight and beautiful. Many of our neighbors commented that it looks like a brand new house! Ryan did not consider this project completed until we were completely satisfied and that means a great deal. As a homeowner, I could not ask for more. It is a wonderful feeling to find a contractor that you can trust to do the job right. Would recommend Gormley Construction to any of my neighbors, family or friends without reservations.Posted on GoogleMaliha Ahmed We worked with Ryan and his team (our main contact was Keith) for a stucco remediation at our home that started in December and took about a month to complete. Our initial interactions with Keith and Ryan were great, they were responsive and answered our questions. The work they did was solid (pictured), and so far has held up well, however we found out this week that at some point during the remediation process, our previously well-functioning A/C unit (which is directly below the scaffolding the crew put up) was no longer working. A heating & cooling company came out and found the copper refrigerant line was pulled up and broken (pictured), with refrigerant and oil spilled all over the ground. This was not something that was ever brought to our attention when it happened, and the line is in such a place that it would be very difficult for anyone to have accidentally bumped it if they didn’t climb over the unit to the back side. We are working with Ryan now try and get the issue fixed, but definitely something that was a disappointing to find out after the fact. Update: Did get in touch with Ryan, who offered to pay for the repair of the AC unit. Ultimately, we went with replacing the unit due to how many pieces needed to be replaced, and Ryan made well on his promise to pay the credit towards replacement. Overall, I have no complaints about the stucco remediation and roof deck build he did for us, only this unfortunate complication. Refreshingly, it was resolved within a week of being made aware of the issue.Posted on GoogleChuanjun Zhang Gormley Construction Inc replaced the stucco of my house with Hardie in March 2024. The original stucco had issues, allowing water to penetrate the house. From the first visit, Ryne has demonstrated his professional insight and answered all our questions clearly and candidly. Their team members are professional and friendly. The quality of their work is solid, and there have been no water leaks after several days of rain in April 2024. We are very satisfied with their work.Posted on GoogleTara Picollelli Ryan and his team were excellent to work with for replacing an entire wall of stucco. Ryan was helpful at every step, and the team worked every day the weather permitted to get a major and urgent repair completed as quickly as possible, without cutting any corners. The quote we received is the final price we paid, there were no hidden fees or additional charges. Very impressively, the stucco texture is a perfect match for the rest of the home! We will be choosing Gormley Construction for any future stucco and construction needs.Posted on GoogleKenneth M Ryan and his team did a stucco remediation for my 30 year old stone and stucco home which had several areas in need of remediation. Many of the other companies I spoke with were all to quick to suggest going with cement board but Ryan laid out the options and I was able to preserve my preferred look of continuing with stucco. Along with his team Ryan was very approachable and easy to communicate with. The job supervisor Keith was also great to work with. The team did superb work and I am very pleased with the finished product as well as the warranty transferrable to a new homeowner. I would definitely use Gormley Construction again if needed and highly recommend them.
Stucco Remediation Experts in Exton, PA
Exton is a community defined by its historic crossroads and enduring architectural legacy. From the early farmhouses that date back to the original Welsh Tract settlement to the sophisticated estates built during the township’s rapid expansion, this area possesses a distinct residential character. Homeowners here understand that they are not just maintaining houses; they are preserving Chester County’s rich architectural heritage for future generations.
However, protecting these significant properties requires specialized knowledge, particularly when combating Pennsylvania’s unforgiving climate. The brutal freeze-thaw cycles of our region are notoriously destructive to aging stucco exteriors. What begins as a microscopic, nearly invisible fracture can rapidly allow moisture to penetrate the protective envelope of your home. Left unaddressed, this hidden water intrusion leads to structural rot, dangerous mold growth, and a severe compromise of your property’s integrity.
When facing complex exterior failures, Exton homeowners cannot afford to hire general contractors who simply patch over the problem or treat every house like a generic job site. You need stucco remediation experts who understand the specific construction methods of Chester County architecture and who respect the aesthetic legacy of your home. Generic solutions often fail to address the root cause of moisture intrusion, leaving your investment vulnerable.
Gormley Construction was founded to provide that exact level of specialized care. With over 20 years of experience, Ryan Gormley leads our family-owned exterior remodeling firm with an uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship. We do not just repair stucco; we diagnose the root cause of the failure and rebuild your exterior envelope to ensure permanent protection, delivering the superior remediation services that Exton homeowners demand.
Protect your property’s structural integrity and value by scheduling a comprehensive exterior assessment with our stucco remediation experts today.

Frequently Asked Questions About Stucco Remediation in Exton
What is the difference between stucco repair and stucco remediation?
Stucco repair typically addresses surface-level aesthetic issues, such as patching visible cracks or painting over stains. Stucco remediation is a comprehensive process that involves removing the exterior cladding to identify and fix the underlying cause of moisture intrusion. Gormley Construction focuses on remediation to provide a permanent solution rather than a temporary patch.
Why is stucco failure so common in the Exton area?
Exton’s specific climate, characterized by high humidity and severe winter freeze-thaw cycles, places immense stress on stucco exteriors. When moisture enters through microscopic cracks and freezes, it expands, causing the stucco to deteriorate rapidly. Furthermore, improper installation techniques used during periods of rapid housing development have left many local homes particularly vulnerable.
How long does a complete stucco remediation project take?
The timeline for remediation depends entirely on the size of your property and the extent of the underlying structural damage. Most residential projects in Exton are completed within two to four weeks. We prioritize clear communication throughout the process, ensuring you are updated on our progress and any unforeseen issues we uncover.
Can you match the texture and color of my existing stucco?
Yes, our skilled craftsmen excel at seamlessly blending new stucco applications with your home’s original aesthetic. We understand the importance of preserving the architectural character of Exton properties. Whether performing targeted repairs or full facade replacements, we ensure a flawless, cohesive finish.
Will stucco remediation improve my home's energy efficiency?
Absolutely. During the remediation process, we often discover and replace compromised or waterlogged insulation. By installing modern, high-performance moisture barriers and repairing the structural envelope, we significantly reduce drafts and thermal transfer. This results in a more comfortable interior environment and lower seasonal energy costs.
